Growing Up With Cowgirl Spirit

by Cesaltina da Cunha

Living with cowgirl spirit is not a fashion but a way of life. It’s about learning to be fearless and resourceful, independent, genuine, and, above all else, faithful. Cowgirls are determined, they are passionate about life, and they are true to themselves. From an early age, they exemplify courage and perseverance in everything they do.

History tells us that it was never easy being a cowgirl, yet these women were heroic, pioneering women.

Every girl has Spirit within her, a God-given gift that no one can ever take away. Along with this Spirit from God, there is another spirit—the cowgirl spirit.

In her book Growing Up with Cowgirl Spirit, author Cesaltina da Cunha empowers young girls as she helps them reach spiritual and ethical awareness. The message is light and encouraging, but also powerful as it teaches about not only the love of Christ but that young girls must take responsibility for their own lives and become leaders rather than followers—like true pioneering women, never afraid to be themselves and stand for something.

What Otto Thorwarth has to say about Cesaltina’s new book:

Cesaltina has put together a must read for everyone in my opinion, not just teenage girls. Being a father of two girls this book will be a must read for them as they become teens. As a forty year old retired jockey turned actor, I feel as if I am a better person just for reading it. She brilliantly separates the word of God and lays it out in a way that could only be inspired by the Holy Spirit. Growing Up with Cowgirl Spirit shows us what our identity is in Christ and that is what matters! Our friends, family, and the ones closest to us can sometimes unintentionally rob us of our true identity. We have an audience of one to please, the one true living God. In a day when we rely on technology such as Map Quest and self help books to guide us in this walk called life, Growing Up with Cowgirl Spirit is a dead on tour guide for your walk. Whether it be relationship decisions or deciding where to go at that fork in your life, Cesaltina takes us through the road blocks of life using the scripture to guide the reader and give them clarity. Most importantly she exposes one of the enemy’s greatest weapons which is fear. Fear stops so many people from being all that God has called them to be.  A pastor once told me “the path to our greatest achievement is usually through our greatest fear.” This book was such a breath of fresh air to read in a society with a ‘ME’ mentality. Jeremiah 29:11 says “I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, to give you hope and a future.” Embracing this book will show the reader what it looks like to walk in that plan. By doing so the reader will no doubt leave a legacy and a mark on this world that will make eternal dividends.
